A dermatology consultation is where most things start. We talk through what is bothering you, examine the skin as a whole, and where a lesion calls for it we assess it with a dermatoscope. Many diagnoses are made during the visit itself, which means treatment can begin the same day.
Skin problems rarely arrive one at a time. A rash appears, a mole starts to look different, the scalp becomes itchy — and people tend to wait, because none of it seems urgent enough on its own. A consultation is the point at which all of it gets looked at together, by someone who can tell which parts matter.
The visit lasts around thirty minutes, which is enough time to examine the skin properly rather than glance at one spot. We look at the whole skin surface and, where it is relevant, at the scalp and the nails as well — both are places where problems are routinely missed because nobody looks. Lesions that need it are examined with a dermatoscope during the same visit.
Most diagnoses are made there and then. Where a prescription is appropriate, we issue it electronically and you collect the medication at any pharmacy. Where further investigation is needed — a biopsy, laboratory tests, an allergology referral — we explain why and arrange it.
You do not need a referral from a GP. Bring your health insurance card and a list of the medication you take, including over-the-counter products and supplements — these matter more often than people expect.

What does the initial consultation include?
A conversation about your problems and how they have developed, a full examination of the skin and, depending on what is found, dermoscopic examination of individual lesions. Many diagnoses are made by the doctor during the visit itself, and treatment can begin the same day. The consultation takes around thirty minutes.
Can I come with several problems at once?
Yes, and it is more practical than coming several times. Come with everything that is troubling you — a rash, itching, a mole, hair, nails. Please note it in your booking so we can set aside enough time for you.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. You book a dermatology consultation directly. Bring your health insurance card and a list of the medication you take, including over-the-counter products and food supplements.
How should I prepare?
Come without make-up and without nail polish. Do not apply ointments to the affected areas on the day of your appointment — the doctor needs to see the skin in its true state. Bring previous medical reports if you have them.
Will I get medication or a prescription during the visit?
For most diagnoses, yes — we issue the prescription electronically and you collect it at any pharmacy. If further investigation is needed, we will tell you and arrange the next steps with you.
